GERB - Union of Democratic Forces coalition registered for Bulgaria’s parliamentary elections

The coalition GERB - Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) on February 17 submitted documents for registration to participate in Bulgaria’s parliamentary elections. The signatures were filed by the Chair of GERB parliamentary group, Daniela Daritkova and UDF leader, Rumen Hristov.

In three days we collected more than 52,000 signatures. We submitted 9,999, as required for registration. The documents were accepted by the Central Election Commission without remarks, said Tsvetomir Paunov, GERB's administrative secretary.

"In the years we have been in power, we have proved that we have the will to build Bulgaria and achieve visible results. We have proven that we can take responsibility and learn from our mistakes. Our recipe for success is work, work, work. We promise this to the voters if we gain their trust, " Dr. Daniela Daritkova ,Chair of the GERB Parliamentary Group. Said.

"Together with our coalition partners from the UDF, we have a programme with clear goals and priorities in all sectors, with which to bring Bulgaria out of the epidemic situation and its consequences," she explained.

Dr. Daritkova also announced that the medical protocol is ready. "The introduced anti-epidemic measures guarantee the health and security of the election process. That is why our appeal is for mass participation in the elections, because only in this way will the next elected parliament and the government nominated by it will be legitimate," she said.

"Currently, the results of the nomination of candidates in the structures are being summarized and by the end of next week we will have finally announced lists of our candidates for MPs. The party leader will also be the leader of the list," Daritkova confirmed.

The impossible partners in these elections will be the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), said UDF leader Rumen Hristov.

"The goal of these elections is to unite the right-wing vote. According to sociologists, GERB-UDF is emerging as the only right-wing formation, categorically pro-European, pro-NATO, which will not allow the pro-Kremlin BSP and its satellites to come to power, " Hristov said.

The deadline for registration of parties and coalitions for the April 4th parliamentary elections expires today at 17.00.
