A group of 12 illegal migrants were detained in the region of the villages Dinkata and Kalugerovo, the region of Pazardzhik, South Bulgaria, on 8th of January, the press office of the local police announced.
Police officers identified a taxi carrying 12 men, women and children. During a check, the police found they did not have any ID documents and were staying in the country illegally.
The taxi driver, a 31 year old man from Sofia, was detained.
According to initial information, the group of migrants comes from the region of North Iraq and travelled for about 3 days.
The migrants will undergo obligatory medical examinations and then will be transported by police teams to a temporary accommodation centre.
