There are alerts for vote buying practices in North-West and South-East Bulgaria, Bulgaria’s caretaker Prime Minister Ognyan Gerdhikov told journalists during a visit in the city of Rousse on 10th of March.
He explained that measures were taken and serious prevention activities were carried out.
“All authorities have been mobilsed to show determination in the fight against such exceptionally ugly phenomenon – Bulgarians to sell their votes for money, which is unacceptable for a European country,” he said.
He added that the preparation for the forthcoming early general elections was going well.
"This is one of my most important tasks. The Interior Minister and the Defence Minister are doing an excellent job, “ Gerdzhikov said.
