The visit of Macedonia’s President Gjorge Ivanov to Bulgaria has been planned since February and coincided with yesterday's tensions between him and Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in connection with the deal reached with Greece on the new name of the country - Republic of Northern Macedonia. President Rumen Radev said Bulgaria was concerned about the collapsed dialogue between the institutions in Macedonia and called for Gjorge Ivanov to take the initiative in restoring dialogue, which is an important condition for Macedonia's Euro-Atlanta integration.
Radev also requested additional guarantees for the strict compliance with the Good Neighbourly Relations and Cooperation agreement between Sofia and Skopje. Ivanov was surprised by Bulgarian Prime Minister's reaction to cancel the planned meeting with him.
The two presidents had a one-on-one meeting in sofia on 14th of June.
