Bulgaria’s Parliament adopts the establishment of a state-owned oil company

Bulgaria’s Parliament on June 5 at first reading voted to approve the establishment of a state-owned oil company. The proposal was adopted with 143 votes in favour, 1 MP voted against and 4 abstained.

The state plans to establish up to 100 retail petrol stations. The company will be a body with the Minister of the Economy.

It will manage oil and fuel reserves, develop a fuel retail network across the country and will operate with tax warehouses.

It is planned that the state-owned petrol stations will be built in the next year. They will be located on motorways across the country and places where big chains do not have own stations.
