The first electric bus for Bulgaria’s capital Sofia will be entering service from October, Sofia municipality told BNT. On 18th of September, within the festival “Sofia Smart Mobility Fest”, residents of the Bulgarian capital had the opportunity to see electric vehicles and hoverboards and had pizza delivered by drone.
Electric cars can now run 100 km on a single charge. Currently, there are about 150 cars in Sofia powered by electricity and the municipality encourages wider use of electric cars.
The deputy mayor responsible for the area of transport, Evgeni Krussev, said that another electric bus using different technology would join the fleet of public transport buses in Sofia. The idea is to see how different technologies operate in urban conditions, which will help the municipality to choose the best and most appropriate technology in future.
The electric cars can use the standard home sockets to get charged. They do not produce harmful to the environment.
Among all inventions that run on electricity, one grabbed the attention of all visitors of the festival: the crazy cart developed by a Bulgarian company.
All guests of the festival dedicated to the European mobility week enjoyed a snack of pizza delivered by drone.
