The Mayor of the Western Bulgarian town of Botevgrad, Georgi Georgiev, was forcibly taken to appear before the prosecutor on 22nd of June, on the basis of a prosecutor’s order, Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior said.
According to BTA, he is investigated on a signal about irregularities with public procurements deals and orders for renting out municipal properties.
Having failed to respond to repeated summons, Georgiev was taken forcibly and presented before the prosecutor.
