NEW EMBEZZLEMENT CHARGES AGAINST FORMER HEAD OF INTELLIGENCE KIRCHO KIROV

On 16^th of January, Bulgaria’s prosecutor’s office pressed new charges against the former Head of Bulgaria’s National Intelligence Service, Kircho Kirov, for embezzlement of 5,1 million BGN.

Kirov is accused of embezzling a total of nearly 10 million BGN, because earlier he faced charges for other 5 million BGN. In that case, Kirov was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment at two instances, but the verdict was referred to the Supreme Court of Cassation, which returned the case for a new considering.
