On 25th of October, Bulgaria is holding municipal elections and a national referendum on electronic voting. The voting opens at 06.00 and closes at 19.00 or 20.00 at the latest.
Early exit polls are expected around 19.00. The first round results are expected on 27th of October. The first possible date for a second round of the local government elections is 31st of October.
71 political parties and 3 coalitions have been registered for participation in the local elections.
Those eligible to vote include 6,363,238 Bulgarians and 523 citizens of other EU member states. They will vote in 12,314 polling stations throughout Bulgaria.
There are 5 foreign nationals who are candidates for municipal advisors: a citizen of United Kindom in the town of Bansko; a citizen of Holland in Veliko Turnovo; a German citizen in Vidin; a UK citizen in Troyan; and a citizen of Holland in Chiprovtsi.
