Record surge of new coronavirus cases in Bulgaria: 166 confirmed overnight
One hundred and sixty six new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours, the update on national information system shows on June 26. The results are from 2775 tests.
The latest cases were reported in the following districts: Blagoevgrad - 6; Bourgas - 4; Varna - 8; Veliko Turnovo - 3; Vidin - 1; Vratsa - 1; Gabrovo - 2; Dobrich - 1; Кardhazli - 2; Kyustendil - 13; Pazardzhik - 4; Pernik - 1; Pleven - 5; Plovdiv - 13; Razgrad - 5; Rousse - 2; Sliven - 6; Smolyan - 5; Sofia district - 15; Sofia city - 60; Stara Zagora - 5; Shoumen - 4.
The total number of cases in the country to date is 4408, of which 1827 are active.
384 medical workers tested positive for the virus, 8 of them were confirmed over the past 24 hours: 6 doctors, 1 nurse and 1 health care assistant.
The total number of recoveries to date is 2370, including 107 over the past 24 hours.
The fatalities are 211. Two people diagnosed with Covid-19 died over the past 24 hours: a 72 year old man with pneumonia and an 81 year old man with many underlying health conditions.
