Two additional centres for accommodation of refugees will be built in the South Bulgaria, said the Chairperson of Bulgaria’s State Agency for Refugees, in an interview for BNT morning programme “The Day Begins” on 19th of January.
An awareness campaign will take place in order to increase understanding among local communities in these regions and make them better informed about the origin of the refugees and asylum seekers, what makes them flee their homeland and why, Kazakov added.
According to him, the accommodation and provision of humanitarian aid is not enough for the proper integration of the refugees and asylum seekers. In his opinion, they need to learn Bulgarian language, so they can find work in the country.
Kazakov said that in 2013- 2014, there was nether an integration programme, nor Bulgarian language training for refugees. He explained that some funds had been allocated for language training.
Fifteen teachers are sought to work at the centres for refugees.
