VIOLENCE AGAINST DOCTORS TRIGGERS PROTEST BY HOSPITAL STAFF IN PAZARDZHIK

Medical workers from the hospital in the town of Pazardzhik, South Bulgaria, staged a protest on 28th of October because of the latest incident involving an attack on a doctor from the emergency ward.

Doctor Gergana Ancheva was attacked on 27th of October by an 18 year old man who came to the hospital in relation to a relative injured in a car accident.

The visible affected young man punched the doctor and then attacked the security guard of the hospital, who at the time was arriving at the place of the incident.

Doctor Ancheva was seriously injured and placed in the neurosurgical ward of the hospital.

The young man was immediately detained by the police and proceedings have been initiated against him for assault on officials during performance of their duty. The incident was reported to the local prosecutor’s office in Pazardzhik.
