Coronavirus infection rate continues to increase, 90 new cases the past 24 hours

The new coronavirus cases confirmed in Bulgaria on April 24 are 90. Of them, 21 were hospitalised. The total number of cases in the country is now 1171, the head of the national task force, Prof. Mutafchiyski said at the morning briefing

The increase in by 8.3% since yesterday. The active cases are 890.

The largest number of new cases was reported in Sofia, 29. Three of them were admitted to hospital.

The new cases in Vidin are 18, in Pleven – 12, 9 of them from “Mizia” clothes manufacturing plant and 3 persons who were in contact with them.

There are 11 new cases in Blagoevgrad, 5 in Kyustndil, 5 in Sliven, 3 in Rousse, 2 in Yambol.

Bourgas, Veliko Turnovo, Vratsa, Pernik and Plovdiv each reported one case.

There are 10 new cases of infected children.

The medical specialists who tested positive for the virus are now 129, accounting for 11% of all cases. The new cases are 34 since yesterday.

According to expert, the significant increase in the number of infected people is the non-compliance with the safety measures and underestimation of the danger.

193 people have recovered so far.

Fatalities are 52.

270 of all cases are in hospitals, 37 of them in intensive care.
