51,600 doses of Moderna vaccine against Covid-19 arrived in Bulgaria
A total of 51,600 doses of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in Bulgaria on March 30.
More than 150,000 doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine are expected to arrive by the end of the week. In April, Bulhgaria expects to receive about 700,000 doses of vaccine against COVID-19, as well as the first deliveries of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
The peak of the third wave of the coronavirus in our country is expected this or next week. The rate of the infection is slowing down, according to experts. It is still unclear whether the emergency measures that were introduced by the end of the month will be extended, despite the record high incidence of COVID-19 in Bulgaria.
As of March 28, data from the Ministery of Health shows that there were 722 cases per 100,000 people. The UK variant of the coronavirus was confirmed in 93% of the test results at the Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. No other mutations have been found in Bulgaria so far.
Over 70% of the beds for COVID treatment are occupied. The Ministry of Health claims that at the moment there are no signals of a shortage of medical staff in the country's medical institutions.
