A 17-year-old young man from Syria died while illegally crossing the Bulgarian-Turkish border. The report was submitted by the “Mission Wings” Foundation. Pre-trial proceedings were initiated under the supervision of the Yambol District Prosecutor's Office.

A report of a dead migrant was submitted to all institutions on Saturday. According to the "Mission Wings" Foundation, the deceased is Fadi Abbas Al-Daher from Syria, 17 years old. The young man was without relatives and had crossed the border with other migrants. A few kilometres from the crossing, his health deteriorated and he died.

At the beginning of this wooded area, the group of migrants buried the body of the 17 year old man, placed markers, also writing down the coordinates of exactly where his body was. The location was found between the Bolyarov villages of Malko Sharkovo and Mamarchevo. An inspection of the place was carried out.

"They said the body was in a sleeping bag and was quite far from here, so we got the assistance of the police to help us so we could carry it," paramedic Georgieva said.

The migrant's body was taken to the morgue in the town of Yambol (Southern Bulgaria). Work is underway to establish the cause of death. According to initial data, there were no signs of violence. The most likely cause of death was exhaustion.
