Airports in Varna and Bourgas received health accreditation from the Airport Council International

The airports in Bulgaria’s Black Sea coastal cities of Varna and Bourgas are the first in the country to receive health accreditation from the Airport Council International (ACI. The certificates confirm the efforts to create a COVID-protected environment. The Council has examined health and safety measures in detail in more than 60 areas.

Health accreditation is an important step forward in the long-term recovery planning of the two airports.

Good practices include the treatment of thousands of high-contact areas for passengers and employees with the innovative nanoantimicrobial coating for long-term surface protection and the introduction of airport agents responsible for compliance with passenger safety measures, the introduction of self-service tools and contactless processes, increased information and communication, as well as cooperation with regulatory authorities.

According to the airport management, health certification is the surest way to improve the safety of passengers and employees at the airports in Bourgas and Varna.
