Another international recognition for a BNT film from the series "Tourism.BG"
The film "Perperikon" of the Bulgarian National Television from the series "Tourism.BG" won the prestigious award in the category "Tourist Documentaries" at the IX International Festival of Tourist Films. The film festival was held from 28 to 31 October 2024 in Izmir, Turkey, with 350 productions from 35 countries.
The screenwriter of the award-winning film "Perperikon" is Ivo Ivanov, and the director - Misho Landzhev. The story of the ancient Thracian rock city located in the East Rhodope Mountain was shot by cinematographers Alex Samundzhi and Andrei Asparuhov, and the presenter is Blagoy Boychev. What secrets does the ancient sanctuary Perperikon keep - for decades the archaeologist prof. Nikolay Ovcharov has been peeling back the veil of time and bringing the lost city back to life. Here the Thracians worshipped the god Dionysus and the mythical Orpheus. With its glorious past, Perperikon is blessed to preserve the souls of the mortal and the mysteries of the immortal in the Rhodope Mountains.
The programme "Tourism.BG" is broadcast every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. on BNT 1 and promotes Bulgaria's cultural and historical heritage, as well as towns, routes and nature spots as attractive destinations for tourism.
