Another party leaves "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria"
The party "Middle European Class" with leader Konstantin Bachiyski is leaving the coalition “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” (WCC-DB), the Central Election Commission said on April 23.
"Over the years, the "Middle European Class" has always opposed the vicious practices in the governance model of GERB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF).
Our decision to support the creation of "We Continue the Change" in 2021, as well as our participation in the WCC-DB coalition, was based on our conviction that it is important to work to achieve reforms and changes that are essential for the future of Bulgaria and counterbalance the current vicious model of GERB and MRF.
However, WCC-DB's subsequent decision to join forces with GERB and MRF proved that they could not counter their vicious model in this way. We of the European Middle Class, as a political party, have always been strict in our principles and consistent in our actions. We believe that our values cannot be changed and that working together with this composition of GERB and MRF is impossible for us. That is why we cannot remain part of an alliance that allows to work with corrupt representatives of the political parties of GERB and MRF, who serve only the business circles instead of serving the people and society," the party said in a statement.
The "Middle European Class" said it continues to work against the model of GERB and MRF.
Within the next few days, the leadership of the "Middle European Class" party will meet to discuss and decide on the party's participation in the upcoming early parliamentary elections and the European Parliament elections.
Last week, the Green Movement party also left WCC-DB coalition.
