BNT2 Celebrates Its 6th Anniversary

BNT2 celebrates its 6th anniversary on 16th of October. BNT2 is the second channel operated by the public broadcaster Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

It was established 6 years ago and covers the regional programming. It offers a variety of programming appealing to a broad audience.

The annivesrsary will be marked with various events in in the 5 regional TV centres of Rousse, Varna, Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv and Sofia

The celebrations in Rousse will be marked with a concert of Rousse Big Band., featuring the special participation of Mihail Yosifov - trumpet and Velislav Stoyanov - trombone.

The Drama Theatre in Plovdiv dedicates three of its performances on the BNT2 anniversary: October 16 - Kamen Donev's play "Lecture No. 2 on Universal Education"; "Clean House" by Sara Rul and on October 17; the performance "Walking under the Rainbow" by Georgi Markov. Before the beginning of each show, two spectators will receive the special present by BNT Plovdiv - subscription cards for the productions of the new season of the oldest professional theatre in Bulgaria.

Two performances of the State Puppet Theatre in Plovdiv are dedicated to the BNT2 anniversary.

With the premiere of "Traviata" on October 19, the artists from the State Opera in Plovdiv will greet their long-time friends and partners from BNT2 and six members of the audience will have the chance to be special guests of the show.

BNT2 Week was launched in Varna on 16 October. On Monday, the team of the TV center in Varna will air the last sailing race for the season in which the crews of the yacht club "Captain Georgi Georgiev” will raise sails with the logo of BNT2. A day later, the show "Bulgaria Today" will introduce viewers to the only dolphinarium in the Balkans - a favourite place for numerous tourists. On Wednesday, the team will visit the Academy of Culinary Arts at the Higher School of Management in Varna, where chefs will prepare a special festive menu for the birthday of BNT 2, and on Thursday the play of the puppet theatre in Varna is dedicated to the long partnership with BNT 2. The champions of the Ichi-geki Kyokushin Club (Friday, October 19) will also give special greetings, and on Saturday the cyclists from "Ustrem" club will pass through the central streets of Varna on a tour in honour of the BNT 2 anniversary.

The football ladies of "Sportka" - Blagoevgrad and teenage nationals of the elite "Pirin" football team organize a special show for the fans of BNT 2. The friendly match will be played under special rules - 16-minute halves and 6 penalties will be allowed depending on the result. The team of the regional TV centre in Blagoevgrad and the athletes have also prepared pleasant surprises for the guests of the event.

In Sofia, BNT2 chose to mark the anniversary with a folklore show. Ensembles which participated in the different seasons of the BNT2 programme “Outdance Me” will present Bulgarian folk costumes, embroidery, specific dances from six ethnographic regions. The event is scheduled for 22 October (Sunday) at 11:00 in front of the National Theatre "Ivan Vazov" in Sofia.
