Bulgaria’s Parliament will hold an extraordinary sitting on August 13
Bulgaria’s Parliament will hold an extraordinary sitting on Thursday, August 13.
On August 6, the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) submitted a petition requesting a hearing of the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
By law, the speaker of Parliament is required to convene the sitting within a week after the submission of the request.
The sitting will start at 9:00 am.
BSP leader, Kornelia Ninova, explained last week that at the sitting, MPs are to discuss a decision of the National Assembly which obliges the Council of Ministers to submit a budget update within seven days in connection with the socio-economic measures related to the COVID-19 crisis. The second item on the agenda would be a hearing of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the Interior Minister regarding violence against journalists and protestors during GERB's National Conference.
