Bulgaria'a Parliament abolished the mandatory quarantine for Covid Infections

Bulgaria's Parliament has unanimously decided to remove COVID-19 from the list of highly contagious diseases that require mandatory quarantine.

The debate on the amendment to the Health Act took place amidst violent arguments in the plenary on November 10.

Here is part of the debate:

Kostadin Kostadinov, "Vazrazhdane” leader:

"Who will bear the responsibility for the huge psycho attack that was carried out on the Bulgarian citizens? Who will bear the responsibility for the damaged society, mental health, because there is such a term, because the people were pushed to collective madness, almost? Who will bear the responsibility for all the restrictions imposed, the fines that were levied then, the harassment on the members of the public?"

Dr. Ivaylo Mitkovski, We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria:

"Mr Kostadinov, you should have come with me to a shift in the hospital in Varna and seen the stretchers with the black bags going to the morgue. Then you would have said other things. In all likelihood, you should put a memorial plaque for COVID-19 on your headquarters, because it got you into the National Assembly."

Toshko Yordanov, “There is Such a People” PG:

"It serves you right, all of you who did this thing back then. Not only the GERB government, but those from WCC-DB who then held the health ministry and continued the same criminal carry-on. Not counting the millions that were spent from the budget on some substances you call vaccines. Why don't you administer all these millions of vaccines? You did a disgusting thing to the Bulgarians and people will not forget what happened to their relatives."

Manol Peikov, We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria”:

"28 - this is the number of my friends and the friends of my friends who died of Covid-19, not with Covid-19, but from Covid-19, including my GP who got up one morning at 4 o'clock and the clot knocked him to the ground and that was it. Are you having fun, gentlemen?"

Ivan Chenchev, BSP for Bulgaria:

"A mass psychosis has been introduced, for which there are those to blame. And these guilty parties, of course, were then headed by the prime minister, who, let's say, was led by the thought of making good measures for the population. Except that the way he did it and the fact that he thought they were doesn't mean they were good, and they weren't.

Dr. Kostadin Angelov, GERB-UDF:

"I will not forget one night when the deputy minister had to bring refrigerated trucks that were deployed in Pirogov emergency hospital, in Alexandrovska hospital and in another place in Sofia because there were no places in the refrigerated chambers. We saved all these things for the Bulgarian citizens. We did not speak about them at the time, we did not show them, simply because it was not humane at that moment."
