Bulgaria's Deputy PM Gabriel: Three Seas Initiative is of strategic importance for Europe and the world
The Three Seas Initiative is of strategic importance for Europe and the world, said Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mariya Gabriel, who took part in the panel discussion "Three Seas as a driver of European growth" within the 54th edition of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on January 16. The participation was at the invitation of the President of the Atlantic Council, Frederick Kempe.
The panel is organised by the Three Seas Hub and hosted by the Polish Development Bank (PDB) and the Atlantic Council European Centre. The discussion, moderated by Ian Brzezinski, was joined by the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, HAYASHI Nobumitsu, and the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Poland for the Three Seas initiative, Beata Dashinska-Muzicka.
"The Three Seas Initiative is strategically important. By investing in infrastructure, energy security and connectivity between countries and regions, it turns challenges into opportunities," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Mariya Gabriel stressed the need to highlight the strengths of the region - harmonised legislation, legal consistency and predictability, free movement of people, services and goods, a dynamic market.
"From the strategic importance to the concreteness of projects giving a perspective for the future of the region - this is our next challenge. With talents, partnerships and strategic investments in key projects, we can unlock the region's development potential," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
