Bulgaria's President gave the start of consultations on forming a government
President Rumen Radev on June 24 gave the start of consultations with the parliamentary parties and coalitions in the 50th Parliament before handing over the mandate to form a government to GERB-UDF.
He will meet with representatives of the three largest groups in the 240-seat Parliament: GERB-UDF, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and WE Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (WCC-DB).
It is not yet clear when the consultations with the other parties - "Vazrazhdane", Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), There is Such a People” and "Velichie" will take place.
The consolations are a step towards the formation of a regular government. Once the talks are over, the constitutional procedure will kick in and the President will hand the first mandate to the largest parliamentary force - GERB-UDF So far, however, the chances of forming a cabinet with the first mandate are not great.
