Bulgaria receives 148 million euros from Brussels for the Ukranian refugees

The European Commission allocated more than 3,5 million euros for the Ukranian refugees to the countries that are part of the European Union.

Bulgaria has received 148 360 870 euros from the cohesion funds. Poland has received the largest amount of funds – 562 098 072 euros, since the country has received the most refugees from Ukraine. The payment is part of the instrument for Cohesion’s Action for Refugees in Europe (CARE).

The money is paid in advance and can be used for food, accommodation, health care, education, aid for access to work opportunities and other needs that the Ukranian refugees might have.

Brussels' aim is to support the member-countries' public budgets. It is allowed for the expenses that can be covered to be from a previous date than the one of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
