Bulgaria will receive 5,5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines by the end of June

"The third wave of coronavirus in our country is receding thanks to the extremely good work on pandemic management. As a result of negotiations on the supply of vaccines, Bulgaria will receive nearly 5.5 million doses for the period April to the end of June," Bulgaria’s outgoing Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov, said during an extraordinary government meeting on April 22.

The PM noted that more than 270,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine are expected each week in May, and 410,000 doses per week in June. Moderna will deliver 36,000 doses each week next month, and 41,000 doses a week in the last two weeks of June.

The Ministry of Health estimates show that in the second quarter of the year Bulgaria will receive 3.5 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, 420,000 doses of Moderna, 550,000 doses of Jansen and about 1 million doses of Astra Zeneca "or a total of nearly 5.5 million doses of vaccines.

The outgoing Prime Minister Boyko Borissov stressed that given the quantities of vaccines provided, the green corridors for vaccination in our country should be opened so that those who wish to be immunized can do it as soon as possible.

"Yesterday there were nearly 19,500 vaccinated, I hope that from today their number will be 20,000 per day, and from next week - 30,000 - 40,000 people. Sufficient vaccines have been provided both through GPs and in vaccination centres, " PM noted.
