Bulgaria will urge the European Council to reconfirm conclusions on North Macedonia
Bulgaria will urge the European Council to reconfirm its conclusions on North Macedonia and to call on the country to honour its commitments to continue on its path towards the EU, a press release of the Council of Ministers reads.
Caretaker Prime Minister, Dimitar Glavchev, will be in Brussels today and tomorrow, June 27 and 28, where he will insist that a text on the Republic of North Macedonia be included in the adoption of the conclusions of the European Council meeting.
According to the Bulgarian caretaker Prime Minister, it is important to point out that the implementation of all commitments made, as well as progress on all EU-related reforms, remains key.
Yesterday, the newly-elected Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, made comments to Bulgarian politicians, saying that his country "will not kneel before Bulgaria". After VMRO-DPMNE won the elections in the Republic of North Macedonia, its leader repeatedly said that as long as he is in power, Bulgarians will not be included in the constitution.
