Bulgarian Border Police detained 6 illegal migrants at Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border crossing

The Bulgarian Border Police detained six foreign nationals at Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint while trying to enter the country illegally, the Ministry of Interior announced on June 29.

An Iveco lorry with a Bulgarian driver arrived at Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint on June 27 from Greece to enter Bulgaria.

Border police officers carried out an inspection with a gas analyzer, during which elevated values ​​of carbon dioxide were identifed in the cargo area.

Three illegal immigrants, with no identity documents, were found there, according to them - two from Morocco and one from Algeria.

It was established that they have entered the cargo hold by cutting the tarpaulin at the top of the lorry without the driver's knowledge. They have been detained.

On June 26, at the same checkpoint, border police found and detained three other illegal migrants from Morocco, hidden in a Mercedes lorry.

They boarded the cargo hold without the driver's knowledge after cutting the tarpaulin.

The Prosecutor's office was notified. The six foreign nationals were charged, in two fast-track proceedings of the District Prosecutor's Office - Haskovo - Territorial Department – Svilengrad, with illegal entry into the country.
