A recent survey conducted by Mediana polling agency shows that the mark given by the Bulgarian public in assessing the first 100 days of the Bulgarian government is 3,32 points out of maximum 6. The change of political power has not changed the public’s deep pessimism.
This is the first time any of the recent five regular governments has seen such a high level of pessimism – 44%, which is a four-fold increase.
The survey results show that 24% of the respondents said that the new government inspires confidence, while 52% think it is rather a disappointment. 19% believe that the current government will be successful in improving the situation in the country, 33% think it will make things worse and 35% say it will neither make it better, nor worse.
The reasons for the negative public attitudes are related to the economic crisis, the loss of South Stream project, foreign debt, the developments in Ukraine and Bulgaria’s position on them.
