Bulgarian students won three gold and one silver medal at the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics
Bulgaria won three gold medals and one silver medal at the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics held in Ohrid, the Ministry of Education and Science announced on September 30.
In the individual ranking, Daniel Koynov from the 12th grade at the "Nancho Popovic" secondary school in Shumen was ranked first.
Boris Mihov from 12th grade of Sofia High School of Mathematics was ranked second, and our third gold medalist Andrey Stefanov from 10th grade in First Private Mathematical High School was placed fourth in the individual ranking.
The fourth representative of the Bulgarian team Veselin Markovic from the 12th grade at the "Dr. Petar Beron" Mathematics High School in Varna won the silver medal.

A total of 47 students from 13 Balkan countries officially participated in the competition. Each competition day consisted of solving 3 problems in 5 hours by writing programmes with a computer, each problem carrying a maximum of 100 points.
The coaches of the Bulgarian team were Ilian Yordanov from the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Biserka Yovcheva, honorary professor of the Shumen University “Episkop Konstantin Preslavski”.
