Bulgaria’s Parliament adopted state budget update at second reading
Bulgaria’s Parliament on June 30 adopted the state budget update at second reading.
After a heated debate, the lawmakers today accepted the fuel discount of 0,25 BGN per litre, as well as the continuation of compensation for businesses after July 1 due to high electricity prices.
The heated discussions over the budget plan went on for more than 51 plenary hours. It started with a heavy debate over the 74 million BGN earmarked to support the capital's public transport. Then they discussed the 20 percent increase for Ministry of Interior employees, but despite that the salaries of prison officers and court guards were not increased.
There were also scandals about the money for the municipalities - in the end, it was decided that BGN 30 million would be allocated to them.
