Bulgaria’s Parliament imposed moratorium on electricity prices for household consumers
With 186 votes “in favour”, Bulgaria’s Parliament on December 15 adopted a moratorium, at the proposal of the opposition GERB party, to keep electricity prices for household consumers at the level of January 1, 2021.
Earlier, with 163 votes in favour, 49 against and 7 abstentions, the lawmakers approved the creation of an Ad-hoc Committee on Energy Crisis and a proposal to tackle it. The idea came from the parliamentary group of "We Continue the Change" and the draft decision was included as the third item on the agenda for the National Assembly sitting on Wednesday.
