Bulgaria’s President sets October 29 as the date for local government elections
President Rumen Radev signed a decree to set October 29, 2023 as the date for the elections for municipal councillors and mayors, the head of state's press secretariat said on July 31.
The President set the date after a working meeting with representatives of the Central Election Commission (CEC). The specifics of the local elections and the upcoming work on the organisation of the electoral process were discussed in the talks.
The CEC officials briefed the President on the technical and logistical arrangements that the commission has to take into account for the local elections and its readiness to hold them.
