Bulgaria’s Prime Minister is on a working visit to the United States of America.
On 9 and 10 May, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Kiril Petkov, will be in Washington, where he will participate in a top-level leadership meeting at the invitation of the chairman of the Munich Security Conference, Christoph Heusgen.
The meeting is a key initiative of the Conference, established as one of the most important international forums on foreign and security policy.
The visit is also part of the Government's plan to tackle gas and inflation issues in a coordinated way through closer engagement with international partners.
During his visit to Washington, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will also hold talks with senior US government officials and World Bank President David Malpass to reaffirm Bulgaria's close partnership with the US and the international community.
The focus of the talks will be on Bulgaria's energy independence and security measures following the unilateral suspension of gas supplies by Gazprom.
