The council of the United Patriots alliance, which is a minority partner in the governing coalition, held a meeting on July 25. The meeting was held without one of the constituent parties Ataka.
Two of the parties in the Unite Patriots, Aleksander Karakachanov’s IMRO and Valeri Simeonov’s NFSB, voted to expel the third, Volen Siderov’s Ataka party. They made an unanimous decision to exclude Ataka party from the United Patriots alliance, as well as three MPs from Ataka to be excluded from the parliamentary group - Volen Siderov, Desislav Chukolov and Pavel Shopov.
The decision comes 2 weeks after the two parties IMRO and NFSB voted to dismiss Siderov as parliamentary leader of the United Patriots.
