Deputy Chairperson and spokesperson of Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission, Rositsa Mateva, on October 1 gave a regular briefing and presented the samples of the ballot paper and the electronic ballot for the early parliamentary elections on 27 October. A total of 28 parties and coalitions have registered candidate lists, there is also one independent candidate from Pleven.

Mateva also demonstrated how the voting with machines will take place. She explained that voters should not try to pull the machine ballot out early but wait until they hear a beep signal and, then take the machine ballot from the machine.

Bulgarian voters can submit applications that they wish to vote abroad until October 1. As of today, 28,000 applications were submitted.

By October 12, voters who wish to vote at their current address should submit an application to do so. October 12 is also the deadline for submitting applications for voting in mobile polling stations for people with permanent disabilities.
