Prime Minister Boyko Borissov ordered relevant ministers to suspend civil servants and experts mentioned in a journalistic investigation, statement by the government’s press office said on 21st of September.
Prime Minister has ordered ministers to suspend or release on leave all civil servants and experts mentioned in a journalistic investigation on Bivol website for irregularities in the absorption of EU funds while the investigations are under way.
On 14th of September, 2018, a signal in relation to the same publication was sent by Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev to the Chief Prosecutor, the Ministry of the Interior and the Commission for Counteracting Corruption and Forfeiture of Unlawfully Acquired Property, with a copy to the Head of 'Audit of EU Funds' Executive Agency.
On 17th of September, Sofia City Prosecutor's Office instructed the State Agency for National Security (SANS) to carry out a check on the publication of the website "Bivol", entitled “#GPGate: Consultancy Companies Involved in Grand Corruption with EU Funds and Public Procurement”..
Subject of the check will be all procurement procedures and absorption of EU funds described in the publication, as well as the participation of the listed individuals and traders. The check of the procedures related to the individual projects and their financing will also include the actions of government agencies and officials.
