Code orange alert issued over storms in Sofia, Vratsa and Montana

Torrential rains and thunder storms are expected today, July 20.

Code orange weather alert over rain and storms was declared for the districts of Sofia, Vratsa and Montana and code yellow is in effect for almost all districts in the country.

Less precipitation is expected in the districts of Stara Zagora, Sliven, Yambol, Bourgas, Haskovo and Kardhzali (Southern Bulgaria).

We do not expect a situation as serious as it was in Germany. There will be rains in Bulgaria today. Tomorrow they will stop. There will be strong winds, Boryana Markova from the national met office said.
