Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,000 new cases, daily tests positive rate is at 17.6%

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,000 from 5,683 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on October 18.

The share of Covid-19 tests that are positive is at 17.6%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 540,619.

The active cases are 60,485.

Of the total, 6,074 patients are in hospitals, 512 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 504 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 457,860

· 1,791 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 2,628,498

· 43 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 22,274

Of the daily cases, 85.60% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 95.35% had not been vaccinated.

There were 167 new hospitalisations, of which 88.62% had not been vaccinated.

*Those considered to be vaccinated had completed the course of vaccination with 2 shots.
