Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,002 new cases
The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,002 from 11,456 tests (including PCR and antigen tests), data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on January 7.
The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:
Blagoevgrad - 23; Bourgas - 31; Varna – 77; Veliko Turnovo - 22; Vidin – 11; Vratsa - 29; Gabrovo – 19; Dobrich - 43; Kardzhali - 14; Kyustendil - 25; Lovech - 13; Montana - 9; Pazardzhik - 27; Pernik - 29; Pleven - 41; Plovdiv - 99; Razgrad - 11; Rousse - 44; Silistra - 17; Sliven - 19; Smolyan – 9; Sofia district - 31; Sofia city – 242; Stara Zagora - 27; Targovishte - 7; Haskovo - 49; Shoumen - 25; Yambol - 9.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 206,392.
The active cases are 69,642.
Of the total, 4,262 patients are in hospitals, 379 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
- 2,023 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 128,789;
- 2,465 were vaccinated, thus bringing the total vaccinations to date to 7,913;
- 59 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 7,961.
