Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,046 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,046 from 5,739 (including 744 PCR and 302 rapid antigen tests), data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on January 1.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 202,266.

The active cases are 75,163.

Of the total, 4,756 patients are in hospitals, 464 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

• 1,192 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 119,527;
• 44 medical professionals tested positive, bringing the total to date to 8,911;
• 61 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 7,576;
• 131 people were vaccinated, thus bringing the total to date to 4,739.
