Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,277 new cases; 156 deaths

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,277 from 4,304 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on December 22.

The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:

Blagoevgrad - 68; Bourgas - 81; Varna – 96; Veliko Turnovo - 61; Vidin – 4; Vratsa - 27; Gabrovo – 25; Dobrich - 18; Kardzhali - 18; Kyustendil - 19; Lovech - 23; Montana - 23; Pazardzhik - 20; Pernik - 15; Pleven - 56; Plovdiv - 166; Razgrad - 22; Rousse - 77; Silistra - 25; Sliven - 34; Smolyan – 8; Sofia district - 14; Sofia city – 181; Stara Zagora - 89; Targovishte - 4; Haskovo - 51; Shoumen - 38; Yambol - 14.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 192,472.

The active cases are 83,041.

Of the total, 6,287 patients are in hospitals, 523 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

- 2, 908 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 102,666;

- 156 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 6,765.
