Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,615 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,615 from 6,945 tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on December 24.

The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:

Blagoevgrad - 58; Bourgas - 75; Varna – 151; Veliko Turnovo - 38; Vidin – 17; Vratsa - 65; Gabrovo – 17; Dobrich - 34; Kardzhali - 23; Kyustendil - 15; Lovech - 28; Montana - 26; Pazardzhik - 55; Pernik - 44; Pleven - 72; Plovdiv - 164; Razgrad - 15; Rousse - 69; Silistra - 17; Sliven - 61; Smolyan – 14; Sofia district - 59; Sofia city – 311; Stara Zagora - 59; Targovishte - 16; Haskovo - 59; Shoumen - 24; Yambol - 29.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 195,886.

The active cases are 82,443.

Of the total, 5,714 patients are in hospitals, 533 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

- 1, 375 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 106,465;

- 99 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 6,978.
