Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,925 new cases, a rise in hospitalisations

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,925 from 13,695 tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on February 23.

888 were confirmed from PCR and 1,037 from antigen tests.

The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:

Blagoevgrad - 97; Bourgas - 182; Varna – 103; Veliko Turnovo – 38; Vidin – 7; Vratsa - 81; Gabrovo – 17; Dobrich - 19; Kardzhali - 11; Kyustendil - 75; Lovech - 32; Montana - 23; Pazardzhik - 45; Pernik - 20; Pleven – 114; Plovdiv - 138; Razgrad - 2; Rousse - 32; Silistra - 28; Sliven - 55; Smolyan – 7; Sofia district - 39; Sofia city – 478; Stara Zagora - 82; Targovishte – 1; Haskovo - 74; Shoumen - 89; Yambol - 36.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 238,591.

The active cases are 27,629.

Of the total, 3,933 patients are in hospitals, 334 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 777 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 201,029;

· 11,709 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total to date to 131,063;

· 79 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 9,933.
