Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 196 new cases, 99 recoveries, 8 deaths

One hundred and ninety six (196) new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours from 3686 PCR tests, data on the national information system shows on July 21.

The latest cases were reported in the following districts: Blagoevgrad – 6; Bourgas – 7: Varna – 18; Veliko Turnovo – 4; Gabrovo – 2; Dobrich – 5; Kardzhali – 2; Kyustendil – 13; Pazardzhik -3; Pernik – 1; Pleven – 1; Plovdiv – 10; Razgrad – 2; Rousse – 4; Sliven – 1; Smolyan – 1; Sofia district – 12; Sofia city – 85; Stara Zagora – 9; Haskovo – 1; Shoumen – 5; Yambol - 4.

The total-lab-confirmed cases in the country to date are at 8929.

The active cases are 4416.

99 people recovered over the past 24 hours. The total recoveries since the start of the epidemic are 4205.

Out of the total, 624 people are in hospitals, 34 of them in intensive care.

The medical professionals who tested positive for coronavirus are 568, including one registered over the past 24 hours.

The deaths of patients with positive results for Covid-19 are 308.

Eight Covid-19 associated deaths were reported over the past 24 hours: a 49 year old man with diabetes, heart and chronic kidney diseases; a 66 year old man with pneumonia; a 52 year old woman with pneumonia and asthma; a 78 year old with pneumonia; an 82 year old man with heart disease; a 73 year old man with no underlying health conditions; a 71 year old man with no other illnesses; a 73 year old man with pneumonia.
