Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 2,462 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 2,462 from 21,858 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on March 8.

Test positivity rate is at 11%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 1,103,788.

The active cases are 207,723.

Of the total, 2,966 patients are in hospitals, 374 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 5,894 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 860,142

· 2,105 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 4,312,603.

· 91 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 35,923.

Of the daily cases, 74.25% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 89.01% had not been vaccinated.

There were 362 new hospitalisations, of which 85.08% had not been vaccinated.
