Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 51 new cases confirmed, total is 3341
Fifty one new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours from 1800 PCR tests, the National Information System said on June 16.
The latest cases were registered in the following districts: Varna – 1; Veliko Turnovo – 1; Dobrich – 1; Kardzhali – 1; Kyustendil – 3; Pazardzhik - 2; Pleven – 7; Plovdiv – 1; Razgrad – 1; Sliven – 8; Sofia district – 2; Sofia city – 16; Stara Zagora – 3; Shoumen – 3; Yambol – 1.
The total number of cases in the country to date is 3341. Currently, 253 of them are in hospitals, 14 are in intensive care.
1784 people diagnosed with Covid-19 have recovered, including 54 over the past 24 hours.
Four more medical professionals tested positive for coronavirus, thus bringing the total number of medical staff infected with the virus to 322. The latest cases include a doctor and 3 nurses.
Two patients diagnosed with Covid-19 died over the past 24 hours: a 41 year old man with pneumonia and respiratory failure and an 82 year old woman with underlying health conditions. The coronavirus death toll in the country is 176.
