Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 5,643 new cases, 154 deaths

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 5,643 from 41,613 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on October 28.

Test positivity rate is at 13.6%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 587,765.

The active cases are 90,543.

Of the total, 7,373 patients are in hospitals, 607 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 2,225 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 473,628

· 25,424 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 2,800,965

· 154 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 23,594

Of the daily cases, 86.99% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 93.51% had not been vaccinated.

There were 902 new hospitalisations, of which 89.80% had not been vaccinated.

*Those considered to be vaccinated had completed the course of vaccination with 2 shots.
