Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 722 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 722 from 13,540 tests (including 359 confirmed from PCR and 413 from antigen tests), data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on January 26.

The latest cases were registered in the districts as follows:

Blagoevgrad - 20; Bourgas - 43; Varna – 31; Veliko Turnovo - 22; Vidin – 3; Vratsa - 26; Gabrovo – 8; Dobrich - 4; Kardzhali - 13; Kyustendil - 24; Lovech - 11; Montana - 5; Pazardzhik - 24; Pernik - 13; Pleven - 33; Plovdiv - 91; Razgrad - 9; Rousse - 23; Silistra - 11; Sliven - 31; Smolyan – 14; Sofia district - 19; Sofia city – 180; Stara Zagora - 40; Targovishte – 4; Haskovo - 23; Shoumen - 37; Yambol - 10.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 215,589.

The active cases are 26,582.

Of the total, 2,822 patients are in hospitals, 279 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

  • 1,059 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 180,127;
  • 655 vaccinated, bringing the total vaccinations to date to 26,798
  • 60 Covid-19 related deaths, thus bringing the death toll to date to 8,880.
