The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 998 from 7,442 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 17.
The latest cases were reported in the following districts: Blagoevgrad – 49; Bourgas – 45; Varna – 36; Veliko Turnovo – 23; Vratsa – 11; Gabrovo – 29; Dobrich – 5; Kardhzali – 14; Kyustendil – 2; Lovech – 23; Montana – 11; Pazardzhik – 23; Pernik – 17; Pleven – 16; Plovdiv – 107; Razgrad – 16; Rousse – 17; Silistra – 17; Sliven – 58; Smolyan – 10; Sofia districy – 16; Sofia city – 306; Stara Zagora – 51; Targovishte – 39; Haskovo – 11; Shoumen – 38; Yambol – 8.
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 28,505.
The active cases are 10,672.
Of the total, 1,450 patients are in hospitals, 76 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 197. The total recoveries are 16,875.
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 1,520, including 37 in the past 24 hours: 17 doctors, 9 nurses, 1 healthcare assistant, 1 paramedic and 9 other medical staff.
Fourteen Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Total deaths are 958.
