Coronavirus in Bulgaria: daily cases rise to 1,595
The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,595 from 9,038 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 23.
The latest cases were registered in the following districts:
Blagoevgrad - 90; Bourgas - 41; Varna - 75; Veliko Turnovo - 19; Vidin – 3; Vratsa - 23; Gabrovo - 20; Dobrich - 14; Kardhzali - 45; Kyustendil - 19; Lovech - 11; Montana - 51; Pazardzhik - 25; Pernik - 35; Pleven - 23; Plovdiv - 140; Razgrad - 30; Rousse - 47; Silistra - 3; Sliven - 37; Smolyan - 13; Sofia district - 43; Sofia city - 549; Stara Zagora - 56; Targovishte - 70; Haskovo - 25; Shoumen - 64; Yambol - 19.
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 34,930.
The active cases are 16,033.
Of the total, 1,792 patients are in hospitals, 112 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 235. The total recoveries are 17,833.
A total of 1,786 medical professional have tested positive for the virus since the start of the epidemic, including 59 newly infected over the past 24 hours.
16 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Total deaths rose to 1,064.
